Here's a new design I'm working on for a client, just curious if anyone had anything to say about it... Here's the link. Girls - does it hit the mark?

Thanks,

-Brian

Wow. That's really good. Of course I never could figure out how people make designs from scratch. I'm not creative myself. But I gotta say it looks great!

Yes, I realize I'm not a girl. Also, I just figured out where the FurtherTucson logo/name came from :P

It looks pretty cool! Cute! Love the tabs at the top, the colors are great. I would change the photograph though.

Looks good. Photograph in the upper left would be cool if it was possibly in flash and could rotate through a set amount of pictures. Maybe with a "Flash" bulb effect and the picture would fade in like a Polaroid.

This may convey the fact you are getting as many pictures as you can within the time period your renting the booth.

Brian,

Overall this looks great. The colors pink/black seem like a perfect combination here. The header font is perfect, and the "gingerbread" around the photos is too. I like sites that are not full of small type and detail, so I like this one, especially the Tucson & Phoenix buttons.
As for constructive view, I would like to see the background fading almost to black at the bottom, darker that the gray. The photos have bounce without using animation, and look candid, how about more color, less obvious & unfocused background, less camera flash?
Thanks much for sharing this with us!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! @James - took your suggestion and added a little animation to the photos, think it turned out pretty well. Here's the live site.

Sweet design! What are you gonna build it in? ie. Wordpress? Joomla?

In most cases I would use some sort of CMS, but for this particular site, they had already signed a year contract with a photo hosting site (smugmug.com) so I just used CSS to skin the design I came up with on there. For the remainder of the pages, I just built them in plain old static HTML, but plugged CushyCMS into several sections. That way they can update the"specials" and contact info. If you haven't ever checked out Cushy I would highly recommend it for small sites like this that may not warrant a Joomla/Wordpress setup.

Here's the live site also if you missed it.

I really like the design. Tabs are cool and the pictures on the final site are a smooth addition.

I know this is late. But yes, as someone mentioned below about the colors. I myself have used the pink/grey theme for application skins. Pink, grey and black go very well with each other. Also depends on the brightness of the pink and how bright the darker colors bring out the pink. Nice layout. Nice design. My eyes actually go where they should. First to the top with the pictures then to the Navigation bar. Then down. Nice choice in fonts as well.
